I love cooking with my daughters, so when my youngest daughter and I found ourselves having more time to spend together in 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, we set up an Instagram page (@ggf_cookingwithmydaughter) and created a special section on this blog for our joint cooking adventures :)
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US:
▪️Hannah is 24 years old. During the time we did most of our cooking together in 2020, she was on a break from Medical School. She will be Dr Hannah (!!!) as of July 2024.
▪️Frederika – Hannah’s mamma – does lots of stuff to do with wellbeing (see happiness-speaker.com), and when she’s not working, she loves to cook.
▪️ We love cooking together, but we didn’t get much time to do that before Hannah went to Uni (always studying!), but when she was home for a while, had fun in the kitchen 🙂
▪️ Hannah’s favourites are baking and pasta. Pasta & pizza (inc. focaccia) making, and creating delish pasta sauces, are Frederika’s favourites.
Look out for food inspiration, recipes and videos!
Buon appetito! 😋
I am Italian and German (my culinary influences are definitely Italian!) - and British since 2019, born in Italy but moved to Luxembourg as a toddler.
Growing up in Luxembourg was a unique experience and one I feel privileged to have been exposed to.
Luxembourg is a multi-cultural hub with many nationalities living side by side, sharing not just languages but also culinary influences. As a country, Luxembourg probably has some of the best authentic Italian, Portuguese and other European Restaurants outside of their own country, so I was fortunate when it came to food.
I also still have a lot of family in Italy (Rome & Sardinia now, but I also spent much time with my grandparents inPescara on the Adriatic Coast when I was growing up), so I spent much time in both my grandmothers’ kitchens when I was little (and not so little, too!), helping out, asking questions amd learning.
Cooking (as well as eating!) is a passion of mine and I wanted to create a blog to share some of my recipes. Some of them are classics, others are concoctions I come up with when I want to try something different and throw together whatever ingredients I have to hand. So many people tell me they can’t cook and they’re afraid to experiment…they won’t try something unless they have an exact recipe. Hopefully my blog provides easily accessible recipes for all, but I hope I can inspire readers to go beyond the recipes and experiment with ingredients themselves.
In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, my youngest daughter moved back home for a few months, and we started cooking a lot together - you'll find our recipes in the "Cooking With My Daughter" category, and can follow our Instagram account ggf_cookingwithmydaughter.
